CHOOSE THE MOUNT FOR YOUR BLINDS

Measuring your windows correctly may seem daunting, but with our detailed How to Measure page you can have confidence to measure your windows like an expert and ensure your blinds come in the perfect fit.

What you need:
It is recommended to use a metal measuring tape to take your measurements
All measurements are in inches and should be taken to the 1/8″
Measure your windows in 3 places (top, middle and bottom) for width and height
We recommend measuring your windows twice to avoid any errors

 

Consider inside mount zebra blinds:

  • Provides a clean look, keeps shades flush with your walls for an aesthetically pleasing design
  • Are energy efficient and are effective for keeping your energy costs down 
  • The most common type of mount ordered

 

Measuring for inside mount:
Provide measurements of interior window frame without any deductions. The manufacturer deducts 1/8″ to ensure a perfect fit. The width of the fabric will be 1/2″ -1″ less on each side than the actual measurement to account for the control mechanism.

Consider outside mount zebra blinds: 

  • Mount to the wall or ceiling to cover the window and surrounding moulding
  • Are ideally suited for spaces needing full room darkening affect 
  • Recommended for unusually shapes windows or windows with minimal mounting depth 

 

Measuring for outside mount:
The finished width of your headrail cover will be fabric exactly the measurement provided in your order. The fabric will be approximately 5/8” less on each side. It is recommended to add additional 2” on each side of the width to ensure that the entire outer frame or moulding is covered, preventing any gaps that would allow the light to shine through.

Installation is a breeze with Zebra-binds.ca. They come already assembled and motorization pre-programmed. Our zebra blinds are custom made to fit perfectly into your windows. With our specially curated How to Install page you can be sure that installation of your blinds is as easy as if you were an expert.

To install you will need:
– A measuring tape
– A screwdriver or electric power drill
– The hardware provided with your order
– In some cases, a step ladder for higher windows
