What are the different types of zebra blinds?

Installing new blinds or shades in your new home is exciting! With a multitude of different window covering models to choose from, the task can be daunting. Not to worry, we’re here to let you know what zebra blinds are trending now when it comes to new builds or home renovations.

Customize your Zebra blinds!

The colors and types of fabrics that you can choose from are limitless. Made of 100% polyester, zebra blinds are easy to maintain and will last for years to come. This product is very popular in new homes and condos or rooms that have been newly renovated.

It provides an elegant and modern look to any room, patio doors and large windows. We currently offer 6 different models that are each unique in their own way. The difference lies in the fabric selection and the transparent netting that is found between the bands.

There are two larger categories of zebra blinds: translucent and blackout. The fabric bands on blackout blinds are light blocking which means that no light will shine through when the bands are staggered. As it relates to the translucent bands, they will allow the light to filter through.

Choose from a wide variety of fabrics and textures

There are also many different types of fabrics and textures that you can choose from in each of these categories, depending on if you want a plain, smooth fabric or one that has some texture or pattern to it. You can even have a fabric that contains different color solid fabric bands if you wish. The netting/sheer that alternates between the solid fabric bands also come in a wide variety. They can be a dramatic netting or a fine, almost invisible, sheer.

There is a wide range of product lines, from designer custom made to china made prefabricated. Once you know what style you want, it will be important to consider whether you want designer blinds manufactured with a bit more quality or cheaper prefabricated shades.

You can normally distinguish between the two: cheaper blinds will be made with a thinner, more fragile fabric and it will not totally cover the natural light, while designer blinds will use robust, multi-layer fabrics that are really room darkening.

When deciding on which model you will ultimately choose, it is important to consider all that type of zebra blind is the best fit for you and your décor while factoring price, quality and fabric selection. If you’re ordering online, be sure to order free fabric swatches so that you can see and feel the quality of the fabric before making your selection. Why not measure your Zebra Blinds?
