WHAT ARE ZEBRA BLINDS?

Zebra blinds are a type of window furnishing that has been around for some time now and are gaining popularity. The look resembles the stripes of a zebra – it is comprised of fabric bands that alternate with transparent sheer or net bands.

The best light control

The operation of this product is simple and allows you to transition between sheer and privacy. You can line the fabric bands up together to let more natural light to enter the room or have them staggered for maximum privacy.

If you want full brightness, raise the blind completely to expose the entire window. Due to a wide variety of light-filtering controls and the simple operation of these blinds. They are ideal for almost any rooms, living rooms in your home or cottage, for restaurants or other commercial spaces.

Also known as alternative blinds or sheer shades, Zebra blinds are operated by a side chain that comes in plastic or stainless steel. Plastic chains and other components, such as the cassette, will be matched with your chosen color of the fabric. However, safety is something we have to be careful about.

There are also few different cordless options when it comes to these sheer shades, including different motor options, such as a battery, solar or wired. Installing automated blinds does away with those dangling cords that can be a hazard for small children or pets.

A blind that fits your home

Zebra blind is the modern alternative to the traditional wood horizontal blinds or the plain roller shade for customizing your window coverings. They can cover almost any type of window, even it has an odd or irregular shape.

The blinds can go up to 144” in width which can accommodate particularly large windows. Although they are a type of roller shade, they provide superior insulation properties. There are two layers of shade that are protecting your home from the elements.

These windows blinds can be easily installed either on the inside or outside of any window frame and are under warranty. If you have patio doors or other contiguous window areas, you can choose to have 2 or even 3 separate zebra blinds types. Mounted on the same cassette, allowing you to operate each panel individually for maximum brightness control.

Now that a zebra blind is defined we invite you to read about the different blind types (Verona, Brazil…). Each zebra blinds type offers a different room darkening shade.
