How to Install Motorized Blinds
Motorization Options
We offer motorized options for almost all of the products in our inventory. Our most popular blinds, roller, opera roller, zebra and sheer shades all have the same motorization options to choose from.
1) The motorized wand which is our most affordable motorization option.
2) The battery motor is a 12V motor is charged via a 15ft charging cable and can come with a solar panel to avoid having to charge the blind more than once a year.
3) The hardwired motorization removes the need for any charging and is ideally suited for very large, heavy blinds.
For cellular blinds we offer a battery motor with external battery pack that provides a long battery life and the battery can be removed for easy charging. The Horizontal wood blinds are compatible with the low voltage transformer motor that plugs into a standard wall outlet.
How to Install and Program Motorized Blinds
Our motorized blinds come fully assembled and programmed. All you need to do is mount the blinds in the window using the provided brackets, screws and instructions. Once the blind is installed, if you selected a remote controlled blind, its ready to use as we preprogram all remotes before shipping. If you have selected the bluetooth or wifi control, you will need to download the appropriate app on your mobile device and follow the steps. On the bluetooth and wifi apps you can program your blinds on a schedule, so you dont even need to think about opening and closing your blinds at the most important moments of the day!
Troubleshooting resolutions
If you are having trouble operating your motorized blinds, there are several simple trouble shooting procedures you can attempt. We have a motorization guide which will illustrate how to preform the mentioned trouble shooting tasks.
1) If your remote stops working, try changing the battery. If it still wont connect ensure the blind is fully charged and then attempt to repair the remote to the blind.
2) If the motorized wand stops working, charge it overnight until the light on the control bulb turns green. If it still doesn’t work, if possible switch the wands with a functional blind. This test will help determine if its the wand or the internal motor that is defective. You can contact us directly for any warranty claims.
3) If your blind arrives and it wont stop at the correct location at the top or bottom of the window, you will need to adjust the upper and/or lower limit of the blind. This process is easy and quick!
If any additional trouble occurs don’t hesitate to reach out to one of our knowledgeable team members who will be happy to help you with whatever issue may arise! Our motorized blinds are under a 5 year warranty, so you can be assured your investment will go a long way.
